If you are a student in the final year of your Masters in the field of development economics (or a related discipline) and are you are interested in getting some practical hands-on experience in the field, then you should consider interning in one of our offices for between six and twelve months.
Imani Development’s services are directed towards policymakers, the industrial, agricultural, and commercial sectors, as well as development agencies. Thus you might find yourself working in any one of the following areas:
In Africa we have offices in Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. We also have offices in Perth, Australia and Oban in the UK. The goal of the Internship Training Programme is to provide interns with an opportunity to gain first hand experience of the opportunities and challenges facing developing countries in the field of economic development.

Over the period of the internship, interns will be trained in Imani’s operations as an economic and development consultancy firm.
Interns will be directly involved in the following tasks:
This is a full-time programme: interns will spend five days a week at one of our Imani Development offices working on projects under the supervision of a professional member of staff.
If you are interested in getting exposure to different countries within Africa, Imani offers a split internship for interns staying with Imani for a year. A split internship offers you the chance to work in two different Imani offices, each for a six month period. A split internship also allows you to develop a firm understanding of how consultancy firms in the development field operate, as well as giving you the opportunity to work in the field on actual assignments.

Conditions
The company will provide you with an allowance sufficient to cover the cost of food and lodging. You will be responsible for the cost of the air fare to and from the office where you will be based.
