The Imani Development Group started life in 1982 when Imani Development (Pvt) Ltd was registered in Zimbabwe as an economic and development consultancy firm to assist in the process of economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries, particularly in Eastern and Southern Africa. Imani is a private consultancy group offering a range of services directed towards policy makers as well as the industrial, agricultural and commercial sectors and development agencies. Imani is a firm rooted and based in developing countries working for developing countries. From its origins in Africa, the group expanded to Australia and the United Kingdom to further its development work in other parts of the world. Imani is a kiSwahili word meaning faith and confidence. This epitomizes the approach to our development projects and clients.

Imani Development (International) Ltd is the main operating and holding company. Subsidiary companies are incorporated in all the countries where we have offices.

We are economic consultants to the developing world, providing appropriate solutions for clients at both micro and macro levels.

The Group has a high level of commitment to its clients, demonstrated by the personal attention and methods of approach that are tailor-made to suit its clients' needs and situations.

Our Approach
When approached by prospective clients we first hold detailed discussions with them to ascertain the exact nature of our client's requirements. We discuss outline terms of reference and the objectives for our involvement. We then submit a detailed proposal, explaining how we would meet the terms of reference, who would undertake the work, the time-table for the work programme and our estimated fees and expenses for the assignment. During the execution of the assignment we maintain close contact with the client to review progress. On completion, reports are submitted, setting out in a logical framework the results of the assignment together with our conclusions and recommendations. Interim reports are submitted as agreed with the client. We have an internal quality control procedure to ensure our high professional standards are maintained throughout the assignment.
