Training in Trade in Services in the ESA region |
Imani Development is currently in the final stages of three-day training courses in the English-speaking member countries of the Eastern and Southern Africa EPA negotiating group for trade in services. These courses are for both public and private sector representatives. The first course was held in Seychelles on 9-11 March 2009 and the second one in Kenya from 18 - 20 March 2009 and was a great success. Zimbabwe was conducted 23 - 25 March 2009 with excellent feedback. Malawi was next on 31 March - 02 April, Zambia has been completed on 15 - 17 April, with Sudan 20 - 22 April, and Ethiopia is scheduled to begin for 25 - 27 May. The overall objective is to build capacity in preparing for negotiations in services and specifically in preparing their schedules of commitments in the EPA negotiations.
